Only Between Us Release Day Blitz

Only Between Us by Mila Ferrera
Publication date: September 3rd 2013
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance

Synopsis:
Last semester, Romy escaped from an abusive relationship with the guy she’d thought was the man of her dreams. This semester she’s putting herself back together, determined to reclaim her passion for art and for life. When she signs up for a painting class at the local art co-op, the possibility of passion becomes very real -- in the form of her teacher, Caleb. Both mysterious and seriously hot, Caleb bares his soul on his canvases, and Romy’s fascinated by what she sees.

Caleb is just trying to keep his head above water. Caring for his traumatized, unstable sister is getting harder every day, and his paintings are so dark and bleak that no one is buying. Teaching classes at the co-op is no longer enough, and now he’s going to have to sell more than just his art to the wealthy, sex-starved women in his classes. But when Romy comes along, she makes everything more complicated. She sees the truth in his paintings -- a truth no one else has realized, until now.

Romy and Caleb might have a real shot together -- one that could heal them both. But when ghosts from their pasts re-emerge, determined to keep them apart, will they be strong enough to hold on to each other?

Purchase:

Excerpt from Romy’s perspective:
“I’m here.” It’s all I can think to say. “You can tell me to leave if you want, but otherwise, I’m here.”

He pulls his hand from mine. “You don’t want to do that.”

“Like I don’t want to look at your paintings?” I tease.

The corner of his mouth twitches. “Where did you come from, Romy? And why now? You’re making things more complicated.”

My smile freezes. “I am? I-I didn’t mean to.”

He turns to me, twisted locks of damp, dark hair skimming his cheeks. “I know you didn’t mean to. But you’re doing it all the same. Every minute you stand here makes things harder to figure out.”

            “What are you talking about?”

His eyes squeeze shut. “Nothing. Never mind.”

“Do you want me to leave, Caleb?” I search his expression, trying to figure out what’s going on for him.

He opens his eyes. Stares at me. “I don’t think it’s fair to ask you to stay.”

“Why?” I shiver as his gaze traces along my collarbone and slides up to my face.

            “Because I’m a mess.”

“And that means you deserve to be alone?”

He flinches, like everything inside him is raw and tender, like the slightest touch or word can hurt him. “I don’t know what it means. I’m just giving you an escape hatch. And I’m suggesting you take it.”Only

We are inches apart. Outside, there’s a clap of thunder so loud that I feel it beneath my feet. The lights flicker. Caleb’s gaze meets mine. I lay my palm on his cheek, his stubble rough against my skin. He seems like a wounded animal tonight, shrinking from anything that might hurt him, but as my fingers brush the hair at his temples, he lets out a long breath.

Then, mirroring my movements, he puts his hand on the side of my face. His thumb skims my cheekbone. “What are you doing?” he whispers.

“I’m not sure. What are you doing?”
“I have no idea.”

Interview Questions:
1.      What was your favorite chapter (or part) to write and why?
By far, my favorite scene to write was the one that inspired the cover. Because of the chapter structure, the reader gets both Romy’s (at the beginning) and Caleb’s (as things get wild) perspectives, and because it’s their first KISS. It’s a very intense scene, and one in which both characters completely let themselves go. I love that kind of scene.

2.      Who’s your favorite character to write and why?
Caleb. He’s got all this stuff going on inside of him, but he struggles to express himself with words, especially when things get emotional (he pours all of that into his paintings). And yet, sometimes he says really insightful stuff that leaves Romy, who’s training to be a therapist, kind of stunned. He’s just a very interesting character to me, who’s been through stuff that’s really made him question his worth and strength. Of course, Romy helps him figure it out J

3.      Is there a character / characters in your books you particularly identify with?
Probably Romy and Jude in this particular book, since I know how scary it is when you first start seeing clients—you want so badly to do right by them, and are afraid of getting it wrong somehow and inadvertently harming the person. Romy really struggles with this—even with Caleb, who’s not her client.

4.      What are you working on next?
EVERYTHING BETWEEN US, another standalone contemporary romance, comes out 11/5/13. It features Caleb’s best friend, Daniel, who is also an artist. It’s on Goodreads! Daniel’s a very different character from Caleb. In his own words: “Caleb bares his soul on his canvases. I bare everything but.”

5.      Any series plans?
I will never write a romance series that features the same couple over and over again. I think I’d get bored of writing all that breaking up and making up, so I only write standalone novels with HEAs. That’s what makes me happiest!

***Excerpt***

“Are you all right, honey?”

I opened my eyes. An attractive young woman with red hair and brilliant green eyes was looking at me. What I thought was salt water from the ocean must have been tears because my face was the only one nearby that was wet. I glanced at her concerned expression and smiled. “Yes, thank you. I’m fine.” I swiped away a tear with my finger. “Just…everything’s fine.”

She stepped closer and lowered her voice. “This cruise will change your life. Nothing will be the same when it’s over, but it will be worth it. You’ll see.” Her emerald eyes twinkled, and she nodded her head once.

I forced a laugh to be polite. “Thanks. Enjoy your cruise.”

What a weirdo. What did that even mean? How could a cruise change my life? I moved from my spot to avoid more weirdness from her and found a less populated area at the back of the ship. New York and New Jersey disappeared behind us as we charged toward Bermuda and away from the mess my life had become.

A cloud covered the retreating sun, sending shivers through me. A white-haired lady dropped her purse and lots of change tumbled out. A penny hit my foot and landed on tails.

My cell phone buzzed. I pulled it from my pocket. I had thirteen messages and thirteen texts. How would Nisha survive the next five days without hearing from me? I took care of the messages and told her I’d call her when we got back to Jersey.

Even though I was not very superstitious, a bad feeling crawled into the pit of my stomach and took up residence.

I knew what I was leaving behind, but what was I floating toward?

Romancing the R.A. (Campus Romance #1)
Release Date: 05/28/13

Summary from Goodreads:
Noelle Buckman is looking forward to making a fresh start in college, one that doesn’t involve immature high school boys. The second she steps on campus for freshman orientation, she can sense the possibilities. Especially when she spots Andy, a resident advisor who’s not just hot but also thoughtful enough to open doors for a girl.

And Andy has his eye on Noelle. Even when her nerves take control and she thinks she comes off as a hillbilly with no direction, Andy can see what she’s really like and he’s more than a little interested.

But orientation is less than two full days and there’s an entire summer between Noelle and Andy. Will her attempt to romance the R.A. be as short-lived as college orientation?

(only $.99!)

***Excerpt***
He’s stunned at first and doesn’t move. I
start to pull away, thinking I’ve made a huge mistake, but then I feel Andy’s
hand on my lower back, pulling me closer. His lips part, and he deepens the
kiss.

Every inch of me is on fire. Andy’s an
incredible kisser, but the position we’re in is awkward. I reach my hands up
and bury my fingers in his hair, which prompts him to lift me onto his lap.
Much better. Our bodies are pressed so close I can feel every inch of him. My
lungs are screaming for air, but I’m not willing to give in to them. I’ve been
dying to kiss Andy ever since he first smiled at me, and I’ll be damned if I’m
backing away that quickly.

His hands move up my back to my hair, and he
pulls my head back gently exposing my neck. His lips trail down my jaw and to
the nape of my neck. I bite my lip to stifle a moan, but it manages to slip out
anyway. Andy slowly eases off, opening his eyes to see my reaction. I debate
pulling his lips back to mine, but for the moment I drape my arms around his
shoulders and just stare into his baby blue eyes.

“Wow.”

He can say that again. “Yeah.”

“I can honestly say that’s the first time I
didn’t have to make the first move.”

“And it’s the first time I ever made the first move.”

He smiles. “Then I’m honored.” He leans
forward and places a single kiss on my neck. His hips rise under me, and I know
exactly where he’s hoping this is going to lead. My body is screaming for his
touch, but I don’t want to be that
girl. The one who goes off to college and sleeps with the first guy she meets.
As much as I want Andy, I can’t do this right now.

Unbreak Me Blitz: Giveaway and Except

Unbreak Me by Lexi Ryan
Publication date:  May 27th, 2013
Genre: New Adult Romance

Synopsis:
“If you’re broken, I’ll fix you…”

I’m only twenty-one and already damaged goods. A slut. A failure. A disappointment to my picture-perfect family as long as I can remember. I called off my wedding to William Bailey, the only man who thought I was worth fixing. A year later, he’s marrying my sister. Unless I ask him not to…

“If you shatter, I’ll find you…”

But now there’s Asher Logan, a broken man who sees the fractures in my façade and doesn’t want to fix me at all. Asher wants me to stop hiding, to stop pretending. Asher wants to break down my walls. But that means letting him see my ugly secrets and forgiving him for his.

With my past weighing down on me, do I want the man who holds me together or the man who gives me permission to break?

Except:

Asher looks damn fine standing there, his dark shades blocking his eyes from the setting sun, a tiny silver hoop glinting in each ear. He is all hard muscle and tan in his fitted black t-shirt and faded jeans. I always said there’s no man as hot as my car. Now I’m not so sure.
My first thought is that we could be naked and in my bed in twenty minutes. My second is of the story Lizzy just told me, a story that makes Asher the worst kind of bad boy—capital B, capital N, Bad News.
I pull my keys from my purse. “What are you doing here?”
His too-goddamn-perfect mouth quirks into that cocky half grin. “I wanted to see you.”
“Aw! That’s what all my stalkers say.”
He chuckles. “You owe me a date.”
“How’d you even know to find me here?”
“How’d you get the cash for such a sweet ride?”
I drive a deep blue Mustang GT, a gift from my granny. She’s terrible with money and we love her for it.
“Marry an old man for his money?” he asks.
“Sure. But I was screwing his brains out when he died, so he didn’t mind much.”
His smile never wavers. “I want to take you out.”
“We discussed this already,” I say, my traitorous gaze dipping back to the bulge of his biceps. Lord have mercy. “I don’t do dates.”
“So we’ll call it something else,” he says. “Try not to get hung up on semantics.”
“And what if I say no?”
Asher’s smirk should piss me off. This is a man who gets what he wants, and it’s written all over his face.
I sigh. “Fine, but only if you have a signed note from your wife that says it’s okay if you play with others.”
“It’s one night. What? Are you afraid you can’t resist me?”
Damn. That’s a challenge. “Dinner,” I say, punching my key fob to unlock my doors. “But none of this macho, He-Man, I-drive-the-lady crap. I have free will and I like to keep my vehicle at my disposal. You might be hot, and I might be joining you for a meal, but you don’t own me.”
“Are you done?”
I try to stop the smile that’s coming, but I can’t resist. I don’t meet many men willing to call me on my bullshit. “Yeah.”
“Do you like Cajun food, loud atmosphere, a good beer list?”
I look him up and down again—a visual journey that is worth it every time. “Goddamn, Asher. You keep going and I might just think you had my number. Cajun Jack’s?”
“I’ll see you there.” He heads toward his Jeep. When he turns back to slide his eyes over my body, I have to tell myself that the heat rushing through me is only a product of the scorching May afternoon sun.
