Moving Towards A Cure: Miles For Hope

On Friday the 20th, my family, friends and I took off to Clearwater for the Miles for Hope run/walk for Brain Cancer. If you follow this blog, you know that my dad has brain cancer and we have had a pretty long and hard 4 years. Over the summer we found out that the cancer was back in form of 2 tumors. In August he went through cyberknife (still waiting to find out if it worked or not). Instead of sitting on our arses I decided I wanted to do something which led to this 5k.

While taking a tour of the hotel we found this sucker in the pool. Gross!

Shuffle Saturday: My Baby You

Shuffle Saturdays is hosted by the girls at Pretty In Fiction, where you post a random song each week. This is awesome for me because I'm known as the human ipod.

This week I chose "My Baby You by Marc Anthony." My dad and I are big Marc Anthony fans. When we first heard this song my dad had that face like "oh this is our song". The reason I chose this though is because today I am running a 5k for Brain Cancer. My dad has been fighting brain cancer for 4 years now.

Do you have a special song with your Dad?

You don't have to actually craft anything to "be inspired". Show something you maybe have done, want to try, or even a cool looking book nook or library. Whatever inspires you!

On the 21st I will be running a 5k for brain cancer. My dad has been in this battle since Sept 11, 2009. Recently we found out that it came back and has spread so I decided to do something even though it is just to make me feel like I am doing something. Well I have made a team and I want to give everyone something as a reminder and thanks for joining/supporting us. These are some things that I thought might be cool to make:

I'm A Lost Pup

One of my favorite things to do is write posts that are completely me. I'm a little on the crazy side so they can be fun.

The reason I titled this ^ is because even though I'm not exactly new to the book reviewing world since I have been reviewing on Goodreads for a while but this blogging thing is a mystery to me.Once I think I'm getting the hang of things I realize stuff like "hey whats all this policy stuff on everyone's blogs?" See what I mean. I'm lost peeps! I shall figure this out!

Totally not the challenge I'm going for but still funny (love Pinterest).

Anywho...

Things have been kind of crazy lately. My dad's brain cancer is back and he started his first round of radiation yesterday.

Cyberknife is a huge robot that moves all around his head and zaps at it. (Scary right?!) SO as you can see things are definitely not the norm for me but honestly when are they ever. It sucks though because we are going on 4 years of this battle and it's like we just started this whole process all over again. Instead of sitting on my tush and getting all depressed and shnipes I decided to go a marathon/walkathon shabang:

Back to the bookish world.

I am currently reading City of Ashes. I wanted to get even more in the "spirit" of TMI. If you know know about TMI then you need to get slapped like... yesterday. Seriously though The Mortal Instruments is AMAZING! You have to read City of Bones NOW!! I'm fangirling hard core! I can't wait to see the movie. If you haven't seen the trailer... well just scroll down my lovely's because here it is!

Are you hooked now? Seriously I am all giddy just thinking about it!

I want to try and get more personal posts in so hopefully ya'll will hear from me soon! =p
