Book Review: V is for Virgin By Kelly Oram

I won this book from  Good Choice Reading

V is for VirginV is for Virgin by Kelly Oram

When Val Jensen gets dumped for her decision to stay a virgin until marriage, the nasty breakup goes viral on YouTube, making her the latest internet sensation.

After days of ridicule from her peers, Val starts a school-wide campaign to rally support for her cause. She meant to make a statement, but she never dreamed the entire nation would get caught up in the controversy.

As if becoming nationally recognized as “Virgin Val” isn’t enough, Val’s already hectic life starts to spin wildly out of control when bad boy Kyle Hamilton, lead singer for the hit rock band Tralse, decides to take her abstinence as a personal challenge.

How can a girl stay true to herself when this year’s Sexiest Man Alive is doing everything in his power to win her over?

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

THIS BOOK WAS SOOOOO GOOD!
The beginning of the book made me so mad. I wanted to punch Val's boyfriend in the balls. I know from personal experience how brutal people can be but this girl has some major "balls."The one thing I really loved was how real the temptation was. When a hot guy is in your face and can make you turn to mush with a single look; yeah that's enough to make you question yourself.

Val was adopted and her mother was a teen mom. She wrote her a letter in which Val made a promise to wait till she was married to have sex. Her boyfriend who thinks that after a few months and proclaiming love is enough to get her to do the deed. Instead of being upfront about her "life-choice" she chooses that moment to tell him which doesn't end well for either of them. After trashing her reputation she gets bold and declares her virginity to the world.Virgin Val grew so much and so fast but she took everything that came at her humbly and wasn't afraid to lean on her friends when she needed.

As for Tralse. First of all, that's a pretty creative name. Secondly, everything about this group gave the book goodness to make me not want to put it down. Kyle is the lead singer of Talse. Her best friends obsession with the group and band member Shane is how Kyle comes to the story. He takes it personally when Val won't sleep with him. Everything that comes out his mouth is somehow always directed at Val's virginity. Even though Kyle is such a man-whore, you can't help but love him and secretly root for him.

I loved every bit of it. It has such a good message to it and never strayed from it.I wish there was more of a Christian story behind it.
